The client had the goal to develop a new office space for his growing team. Having electromobility as a focus of its work, the company intended an environmentally friendly, natural feeling in its new office. Similar to the way electric car industry enters the local market, the design intended to give alternative to the conventional office space in the specific context. That led us to the choice of materials that are all natural – timber, metal, glass and fabric. The open space needed a meeting area and a conference room. That’s where the timber pavilions appear. We have designed two hexagon shapes as a central core of the space, leaving the bright periphery for working desks. We chose solid pine wood for the structures, using the timber in its natural color and look. The pavilions have fully transparent glass walls to allow the light come inside and have the structures visually open to the common space. The lattice ceiling, made of birch plywood, lets the air flow and diffuses the artificial light coming from above, putting with its specific pattern, a central focus on the timber pavilions in the interior.
