Impeccable detailing and luxurious furnishings by Italian brands Baxter and Minotti complete the space. - Mr. Edmon Leong
In the living room, expansive floor-to-ceiling windows open to bright panoramic views of the harbour. Mullions are wrapped in chrome with a sleek mirror finish making them appear almost invisible, dissolving the barrier between interior and exterior. To underscore this effect and bring the outdoors inside, a shimmering grey-blue Venetian stucco ceiling with an ombre pattern acts like a seamless extension of the sky. Similarly toned marble floors and a silver travertine feature wall have subtle blue accents. Seen together, these elements call to mind the glistening surface of the sea. - Mr. Edmon Leong

The Yachtsman
A sanctuary by the sea

This ornate waterfront home takes its cues from its magnificent 180-degree view of Victoria Harbour. While it’s located in a bustling urban neighbourhood, the four-bedroom home embodies the spirit of seaside living. Throughout the design process, we envisioned a stylish yachtsman in his element in open water.

Gazing out through the windows from the curved emerald sofas, it feels as if you are perched on the deck of a yacht. Stunning vistas of the harbour remain present throughout the room. Copper accessories add a hint of glamour. Impeccable detailing and luxurious furnishings by Italian brands Baxter and Minotti complete the space.

In the adjacent dining area, a rich copper bar creates a luminous glow adding warmth to the cool interior. A chandelier by Ross Gardem featuring textured mouth-blown glass pieces, inspired by ripples in the ocean, anchors the space.

A collection of contemporary art including an oxidised silver leaf painting with burned wood tones by artist Tata Montilla adds drama to the room. Tucked behind the bar is a sleek Arclinea kitchen.

The water-inspired narrative continues in the elegant master suite. Woven blue wallpaper from Armani Casa conjures a calming seascape above the leather bed which is dressed with a luxurious silk duvet and linens by Frette. Beige leather panelling also envelops the wardrobes, walls and night stands and creating a soft, cocooning effect. This mood continues in the master bath, which features sleek Salvatori sandstone paired with brushed black Gessi fittings creating a minimalist, spa-like environment.

One of the three children’s bedrooms features a playful blush pink colour palette with inbuilt wood cabinets and shelves while another features a dark blue and concrete grey colour palette with copper accents. The highlight of the latter is a moody en-suite bathroom outfitted in light grey terrazzo and dark chrome tiles paired with a copper basin and fixtures.

More than just an elegant family abode, this waterfront home conjures a sense of pleasure and indulgence—a perfect retreat for a yachtsman looking to escape the buzzing streets of the city.
