Design for the Qing Dynasty's Bakery
More than 300 years ago, Qing Dynasty - China, during the reign of Emperor Qianlong, the imperial chef - Mr. Chen retired and returned to his hometown of Dongguan - China.

He had a lifelong passion for cooking and founded the Phoenix Bakery to make imperial snacks - egg rolls. The egg rolls were very popular in the community and became a local delicacy. About 100 years ago, the shop moved to Hong Kong along with Chen's descendants. Unfortunately, several decades ago, no one inherited the family business due to Dr. Chen's passion for scientific research. Dr. Chen also developed a secret ingredients from scientific research and nutritious high-selenium eggs to improve the quality of the egg rolls. Now, a historical brand new Chinese bakery shop was planned and opened in Hong Kong at 2022, The name is the Phoenix Bakery.

To design a bakery shop inspired by a Chinese palace -
Imperial Palace Beijing, consider incorporating traditional Chinese architectural elements such as sloping roofs with upturned eaves, ornate columns, and intricate woodcarvings, we selected a color scheme of peach, gold, natural wood which are commonly used in traditional Chinese architecture. We want to create an impressive entrance like shop front with a ornate gateway.

Despite the space is only 15 Sq M, we make use of the mirror wall to create an illusion of space and use traditional materials such as wood. and stone to create a sense of authenticity .
Inspired by the Chinese window frames with natural lighting and shadows, a design cashier desk with abstract element pattern was created. Incorporate wall murals depicting scenes from
Chinese folklore and use layer of led stripes created an geometry ornaments and make it simple and created an inviting glow to the space.

Finally, soft lighting also chosen to highlight the shop facade details and create
a cozy and intimate atmosphere accommate in this old district.
