Our interior design project was inspired by Japan and its rich cultural heritage. The space was designed for a confectioner who was born and raised in Japan, and we aimed to capture the essence of their heritage and incorporate it into the design.
The tatami floor was a crucial element in the space, dictating the division of the area and affecting the ceiling, seating areas, and furniture placement. We incorporated antique objects and art from various periods, creating a unique collection that reflects the customer's personality and heritage.
Every material we used was carefully selected, with a focus on its limitations and how we could turn them into an advantage. For instance, the panels of the wall covering came at a particular height, and we changed the direction of the wood fibers, creating an added value and an organic feel.
Textures played a significant role in our design, and we chose materials that would give a natural feeling, such as wood, linen, iron, and concrete. We created a workshop for pralines, doughs, and jams, bringing together the sweet and delicious scents of the confectionery with the natural textures and materials of the space.
Our interior design project reflects the customer's heritage and personality, telling a unique story that transports visitors to Japan. We are proud of our work and believe that it will stand out in this competition.
