Nestled in the vibrant heart of Causeway Bay, behind the iconic Lee Garden III, this showroom is a harmonious fusion of innovation and tranquility. It represents a joint venture between Hong Kong’s bespoke wine storage specialist, Vina, and Japan’s leading kitchen technology brand, Lixil Sunwave. Entrusted to Minus Workshop, the space is a masterful interplay of contrasts and contemplation, designed to reflect the unique identities of both brands while creating a cohesive experience.

A towering 5.5-meter ceiling sets the stage for a deconstructed Japanese Pine installation, evoking the serene essence of a traditional Japanese courtyard. This natural element contrasts beautifully with the sleek, functional elegance of the kitchen section upfront, which showcases Lixil Sunwave’s cutting-edge technology and strong Japanese heritage. The design ingeniously bridges the gap between the recommended 2.3-meter kitchen cabinet height and the soaring ceiling through the use of striking pillars, creating a dynamic architectural rhythm that ties the space together.

On the Vina side, bathed in natural light from the tall windows, an array of wine storage solutions is displayed, ranging from standard units to customised wine rooms. Positioned near the window, the customised wine room becomes a focal point, designed to captivate passersby with its meticulous craftsmanship and ability to accommodate various bottle sizes. Tactile contrasts are introduced through the use of customised carpets, replacing the natural limestone found elsewhere, offering a sensory shift and enhancing acoustic comfort.

At the heart of the space, a small living conference area serves as the middle point between Vina and Sunwave, symbolizing the seamless collaboration between the two brands. Anchored by a sculpted sofa and a statement floor lamp, this zone exudes understated elegance, providing a space for intimate meetings or quiet reflection. Nearby, an educational artwork stand highlights the nuances of wine storage with geometric precision, complemented by ever-changing lighting effects that add an element of intrigue.

Lighting plays a pivotal role throughout the showroom, with simple geometric forms and dynamic light combos creating an ever-shifting interplay of shadows and highlights. This not only draws the eye but also enhances the sense of artistry and contemplation within the space. Every detail, from the sculptural elements to the thoughtful zoning, reflects a deep understanding of both brands’ identities, resulting in a showroom that is as functional as it is inspiring.

This space is more than just a showroom—it’s an experience. It seamlessly blends Japanese tranquility with cutting-edge functionality, elevating design beyond practicality into a realm of artistry and intrigue. It invites visitors to explore, engage, and envision the possibilities of bespoke wine storage and innovative kitchen solutions in a setting that feels both serene and dynamic.
