The Hendrix is an amenity rich 482-unit residential building located in the Powerhouse Arts District. The interiors were designed for the neighborhood’s population of young adults who take advantage of living in an urban context. A robust art program was implemented throughout, expressing the Arts District inside the building itself.

The ground floor is generous in scale and was designed to be an extension of the full amenity offerings found throughout the building. An expansive double-height lobby features a library area and a sloped corridor accommodates flood zone code, while the walls of the hallway offer the opportunity to continue to showcase the art program in a gallery-like way. The mezzanine level offers options for different workstylesincluding library-style tables, soft seating lounge space, informal meeting banquettes and private rentable conference rooms and individual phone booths.

The 7th floor amenities program maximizes the hospitality experience by blending convenience with an exciting urban lifestyle. A game room, chef’s kitchen, dining room, lounge area and gym are unified through a cohesive design language and palette. Further expressing the “Untethered Nostalgia” which was the basis of the design concept, the game room design is inspired by the Atari 2600. A Pacman neon ceiling, custom monster floor tiles, and pixilated graphics complete the Barcade’s lo-fi look and feel.

The roof terraces continue the elevated amenities on the outside with one terrace focused on social gathering around food/picnic tables and the other with focus on relaxation around a large pool which provides exceptional views of Manhattan.
