Design of the Palace Museum The Forbidden City Watch and Clock Exhibition was moved from the former Fengxian Hall to the south side of the Fengxian Hall, and the area was reduced to a rectangular space of 450 square meters. The number of watches and clocks also decreased by a small and a half. For space creation, the biggest problem we face is: how to enhance the perception of the simultaneous change of time and space in the process of watching clocks? 1. The east-west exhibition hall is set up in a pocket array, entering on the east side and leaving on the west side. 2. The clocks are arranged in French, British, Swiss, special-time clocks, and several regions in China from east to west. According to the segmentation of the place of origin, it is determined by color. French light green, British blue, Swiss gray blue, the sapphire blue for the special exhibition area, and the jewel red of Chinese watches. The showcase and the ceiling are in color, and the exhibition hall is composed of five color segments. Visitors watch and cross different color gamuts and finally complete a journey of time and space.
