Nestled in Miyakonojo City, TERRASTA represents revitalization efforts. Its name blends. 'TERRACE' and 'STAGE,' signifying communal space and support for individuals' lives.

The architectural design seamlessly merges exterior public space into the interior by vertically zoning functions. The ground floor hosts public amenities like supermarkets and tenant spaces, linking to an existing city plaza. Transitioning smoothly to the main hotel area on the 3rd floor, each level connects via stairs and terraces, enhancing the plaza's usability. Tenants, carefully selected to aid local businesses, contribute products integrated into the hotel, benefiting both tenants and guests. The exterior finish features Shinmoe Brick, crafted from volcanic ash sourced from Mount Shinmoe, while the interior walls showcase Takachiho Shirasu plaster, unique to the region, paying homage to the area's history and blending with neighboring buildings.

The hotel's lobby, on the 3rd floor, features an open-plan layout. The central check-in counter is surrounded by indoor and outdoor seating adorned with local artworks. This area serves as both a lobby for hotel guests and a communal lounge for locals, with a bright, natural ambiance suitable for community events or exhibitions. Two restaurants offer diverse dining experiences. An all-day dining spot opens onto a common terrace, serving various purposes. The Teppanyaki restaurant highlights local lava stones from Sakurajima in its design.

The guestroom design offers various room types for different stays, such as business trips, family vacations, and group gatherings, catering to tourists and locals alike. Inspired by the warmth of the exterior's brick facade, the interior combines soft brick colors with wood and brass elements, infused with Japanese aesthetics. In addition to standard rooms, six concept rooms showcase different aspects of Miyakonojo.

The 'TERRACE SUITE' offers panoramic mountain views, integrating natural beauty with interior design through an inner garden that creates openness. The 'STAGE SUITE' is designed for social gatherings, featuring a central pantry kitchen connecting to the dining-living area and outdoor terrace, with a strategically placed bathroom facilitating social interaction. The last four rooms highlight Miyakonojo's talents by collaborating with local artists, designers, and students, resulting in unique and creatively designed spaces.

TERRASTA's design reflects a commitment to sustainability by using local materials and partnering with local people and businesses. It blends innovation with tradition, surpassing the typical hotel concept to become a dynamic hub for creativity, community, and commerce.
