Located at the heart of the Art Deco District in Miami Beach, TATEL’s grand "porte cochère" allow diners to be dropped off at the feet of the restaurant’s entrance and a large historic marquee welcomes them to the small entrance garden. Diners approaching the building are able to witness an enormous double height cylindrical room where the main bar is located. For this magical space, STUDIO GRONDA has designed a circular island bar with different metallic finishes. After a few steps, the diners come around a small intimate lounge full of sparkle thanks to its sculptural ceiling materialized by hundreds of hammered metal panels. On the main corner of the room, STUDIO GRONDA commissioned a movie director to create a video clip depicting a flamenco dancer in her intimate practice choreography. The video clip is projected onto a framed bronze window encouraging a voyeuristic experience. The floors are made of Italian terrazzo with marble inserts emulating a cobbled street. The lounge serves as a link between the bar and the main room. This lounge is surrounded on both ends by elegant shelves in the form of Walnut wood cupboards and wine cellars. The lounge seating is composed of two rosewood wooden banquettes. The carpets, all hand tufted carpets in the lounge, the main room areas and semi-private dining rooms are STUDIO GRONDA’s exclusive designs for TATEL and manufactured by Alarwool in Burgos, Spain.
