T² Coffee is only a few hundred meters from Xinglong Lake, a charming and diverse park with lakeside landscapes for Science City in Chengdu. In the beginning, the most difficult part of the design is how to achieve a connection with the lakeside scenery and create an image of the facade within the constraints of the building. The oval architectural form is the design inspiration of the lake, and "White Walden" becomes the space theme.
The designer integrates concepts such as lakes and ripples into the space and combines light to express the poetry of water. The glass curtain wall creates a more intimate atmosphere with the street. The 15-meter-long curved bar at the entrance creates an open environment where you can sit down randomly. Using white color is to relieve the work pressure of modern people. From the interior to the exterior, the flexible combination of the furniture and the camping-style leisure tables and chairs in the outdoor area create a sense of interactive communication in the public space, making T² Coffee a unique and charming space in the city.
This project is a renovation project. The original facade of the cafe space is weak in visibility and the internal functional structure cannot meet the new needs. The designer implements sustainable design through various design methods such as reduction and adaptive reuse. The strategy is to carry out transformation based on reduction, reuse and recycling, retaining a large area of glass curtain wall, and only creating a simple geometric door head at the entrance. The brand symbol T²Coffee appears on the facade with a good sense of scale. The space is simple and well integrated into the surrounding environment. The space is fully optimized to create a spacious, bright and airy environment.
To maximize the reuse rate, the designer used the original furniture of the space as much as possible to match the aesthetics and comfort of the renovated space. The lighting, heat insulation, and green permeability properties of the facade are further subdivided according to the orientation. The selection of more efficient energy-saving lamps makes full use of natural ventilation for cooling. Optimizing vision of the exterior, temperature and lighting controls, color matching and other details are all aimed at reducing operating energy consumption as much as possible.
