The design fully considered the surrounding environment and the historical background of the building itself. On the basis of retaining the characteristics of the original building, ingenious renovation and expansion have been carried out. The architectural style of the eastern side was preserved, with structural reinforcement and facade and roof repairs carried out.
The western side building did not meet the height requirements, necessitating the demolition and reconstruction of the floor slabs, roof, and south facade, along with overall structural strengthening. A new steel frame structure was introduced, creating a nested structure within the building. This dialogue between the newly constructed modern architecture and the preserved historical buildings resulted in the creation of a parent-child center that not only meets the demands of modern education but also embodies historical heritage and cultural value.
The entrance is like a city hall, the painting room is like an art market, and the reading room is a dream library. The other rooms are like this, giving the space a realistic function, and we hope that children will maintain interest in each classroom. In this way, every time children enter, they will gain new experiences because of these, they shuttle through it, and everyone is the protagonist of the story. Upon entering the kindergarten, the first thing that catches the eye is a warm reception area. The design style of the reception area adopts warm tones, such as soft gradient pink and light wood on the wall, so that visitors can feel the warm atmosphere of home.
In the sensory integration classroom, design is combined with interesting special teaching aids to set up targeted training courses and vivid games. These are supplemented by stimulation, induction, and other means to improve sensory integration ability, stimulate children's own excellent potential, and promote overall physical and mental health and comprehensive quality.
In the art classroom, soft tones, environmentally friendly material choices, and diverse regional settings create a natural atmosphere where children can create freely. The stairs continue the concept of a "tree-lined path," leading children and parents to explore more areas.
On the other side of the second floor, the theater space retains the original wooden structure roof while incorporating decorative elements. The interesting stage beneath the wooden house is created using tree shapes and decorative lines jumping on the ground. These elements not only attract children's attention but also transport them into an interesting fairy tale world.
Through design, we aim to stimulate children's talents and passions, planting small seeds in their hearts, and shaping this place into a "Nature Town" where children can grow happily and healthily.
