SWEETS hotel is a radically different way to experience Amsterdam. Between 2017 and 2020 Amsterdam’s 28 iconic bridge houses are being transformed into independent hotel suites on the city’s canals. The tiny bridge houses vary in style with the oldest building from 1673, examples of the Amsterdam School and contemporary structures dating up to 2009. SWEETS hotel emphasizes on this exceptional and diverse heritage by preserving and restoring the architectural landmarks’ exterior and simultaneously transforming the interior into modern hotel rooms. Each bridge house is treated individually to create twenty-eight one-of-a-kind hotel suites that can accommodate up to two adults.

The SWEETS are spread throughout the city and do not have a central lobby or restaurant. A carefully curated digital neighbourhood guide (specific to each bridge house) provides guests with the best places to get breakfast, eat dinner or have a late night drink within walking distance. In this way each hotel suite hosts a complete different experience and insight of what Amsterdam has to offer.

The most exclusive suite in the collection is the Amstelschutsluis. Located in the middle of the Amstel River it is only accessible by boat. A booking comes with complimentary breakfast, a filled fridge and a private skipper!
