New York skate brand Supreme opened a store in San Francisco’s Mid-Market district featuring an interior created by Brinkworth and the Wilson Brothers. Following a significant restoration, the once dilapidated 2,800 sq ft unit features double height ceilings, exposed brick and steel beams throughout. A huge single pane of glass forms a fitting shop front for Supreme’s largest store to date. 7 ft tall sculptures by Mark Gonzales punctuate the shop floor. San Francisco has a rich history of skate culture and is the spiritual home of ‘bombing hills’. The store features a highly crafted indoor skate bowl suspended from a mezzanine, built with an exposed timber exoskeleton and a textured lacquer bowl. Custom-made furniture replicates the granite benches found on Market Street in the ‘90s, a favourite skate spot at the time. This project is the latest in a long run of collaborations with Supreme. For over 10 years, we’ve designed locations in Europe and America for the legendary label.
