The design concept of the restaurant is taken from the different elements and phenomena of nature to create different angles and different ways of dining experience. Through the aesthetics of nature, the art of design gives space the freedom and vitality to arouse the unique power of the restaurant. The overall theme is defined as “Under Ground”, which echoes with the brand culture of the restaurant – “Beyond Clouds” as its destination. The texture of the four signature materials, that is, wood, stone, metal, and halite is presented in the form of three blocks, symbolizing four fault planes. Wood is the most surface material, for wood fire is the origin of cooking; stone implies that only by constant peeling can the core be attained; handmade-style metal reflects the spirit of craftsmen, like a gem embedded in the restaurant; halite, the king of salt, is the material hidden in the bottom layer, showing a perfect texture. The meat cabinet featuring halite indicates the superior ingredients offered by the restaurant, working to enhance the sense of quality; the halite exposed from the cracks of the main background wall reveals the vibrating beauty of earth with the changing light, while highlighting its deep-seated heritage. The exposed ceiling is in the form of a curved surface, with metal frames stacked in layers, creating an extraordinary experience of travelling from “Under Ground” to “Beyond Clouds”.
