The oldest property still standing in Old Riem today is the Zendath property. This one storey farmhouse, consisting of dwelling house and stable was built in 1750. What remained of the farm were parts of the dwelling house and remains of the stable. Two family suitable units were then built into this historical structure encountered in this way. The concept combines dwelling house and stable by inserting a spectacular concrete prism. This hereby reacts to the valuable listed substance and leaves it intact, and the historical traces remain almost untouched. In this way the originality of the building remains where the substance is present and modern architecture arises from the addition.
