The stand had to be a home with all common residential areas and the EH&I magazine needed to be clearly represented, those were the instructions. Other than that, there were no restrictions, as long as the result would stand out. - Prince stand design
Especially for the model home, Nanne developed a series of new colors. “These colors are almost primary colors, but in a new variant. I like to see people happy again, and color is such an easy way to create happiness. Black and white as counterparts. And after the bronze and gold of recent years, you now see platinum making its entrance.” - prince stand design
“The time has come where all shapes may and can be used, interchangeably, such as the 3-D printed bath tub. The search for new shapes has begun. - DVE

THE HOUSE Nanne Schuiveling, Concept Designer (Oisterwijk, the Netherlands) was invited to design the stand for EH&I magazine at the largest interior design show in 2019 in Amsterdam. The stand had to be a home with all common residential areas and the EH&I magazine needed to be clearly represented, those were the instructions. Other than that, there were no restrictions, as long as the result would stand out. Nanne’s mission was to excite the show’s visitors. “I make sure the visibility flow is flawless, one of the main requirements of a great design. But I also aim to excite through routing. From whatever angle you enter the stand, you always see and feel the total experience.” Nanne tells a story about shape, color, illusion, camouflage and innovation, using unexpected and new products, like an electric fireplace, running on hydrogen, integrated in a couch. Ode to shape “The time has come where all shapes may and can be used, interchangeably, such as the 3-D printed bath tub. The search for new shapes has begun. The base of the stand is a larger-than-life cover of the EH&I magazine, folded in half. The rounded walls almost force you to look at everything present.” Newly developed colors Especially for the model home, Nanne developed a series of new colors. “These colors are almost primary colors, but in a new variant. I like to see people happy again, and color is such an easy way to create happiness. Black and white as counterparts. And after the bronze and gold of recent years, you now see platinum making its entrance.” Illusion & self-reflection The illusory effects can be found in all kinds of openings in the walls, which have an alienating effect. The mirror foil (egocentricity and reflection) on the kitchen island has the same alienating visual effect: the island is completely absorbed in its surroundings. Another magical detail: the door to the pantry – closed for visitors – is covered with Cole & Son wallpaper with a key pattern. “These illusions stem from the fact that we are visible everywhere on social media nowadays, but sometimes we also want to be invisible, camouflage ourselves.” Design with a touch of humor For example, Nanne filled the Gaggeneau wine climate cabinets with vegetables. Time for a vegetable cabinet :) (Gaggenau was not too happy about it).
