The Smart Dubai initiative is anchored in the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, to make "Dubai the happiest city on earth".
Led by Dr Aisha Bin Bishr, Director General of Smart Dubai Office, the government entity were established to initiate and promote an efficient, seamless and impactful city experience.
Collaborating with the private sector and government partners, with no place to call home, dwp were tasked with design of their flagship office in d3. Smart Dubai spends their day creating initiatives on how to make dubai a happier environment, our challenge was to create a happier working environment for the team.
The concept story draws inspiration from the shifting sands to create an organic structure while Emphasising movement and fluidity through the office space. Introducing pockets of landscaping inspired by the desert oasis are located throughout the space, the central oasis / coffee bar invites staff to meet & collaborate in an informal environment.
The formal meeting rooms are located through a 'Meandering Creek', which is reminiscent of the traditional business culture of Dubai, where people and merchants alike met by the creek to trade, soon becoming the trading hub of the region.
