We re-imagined every area, re-claiming a new Roof Terrace, Living areas, Kitchen, Bedrooms, Bathrooms and Mezzanines within the heritage listed apartment shell, providing a unique stair and gantry to connect the new Terrace to the 2 mezzanine levels.
The Skywalk project harmoniously connects the 5 distinct interior spaces over 3 levels of open modern living, creating fluid, open areas that are connected, yet visually private.
We wanted to retain the tangible physical touch of past workmanship, seamlessly integrating it with a new industrial aesthetic, balancing the raw with refined and re-purposing and recycling as much of the original materials as possible.
Soft dappled light, hand applied textures, hard and raw materiality provoke a resonance of the past, celebrating the buildings industrial origins and the value of craftsmanship through the emotion of vertical exploration.
The furnishing and decor reflects a similar material honesty, complimenting the bold, sculptural gentle curves and linearity of the design.
