Two years ahead of the much-anticipated launch of the first urban Resort in Dubai, One & Only, One Za’abeel, the client and operator identified a gap for a possible new product offering; the first fitness & Recovery themed hotel, SIRO. LW were given the opportunity to conceptualize and design the pilot project. This endeavor marked the first of its kind in the region and positioned SIRO as the benchmark to open globally. SIRO's mission is to ignite a community of passionate individuals to unlock their potential by crafting immersive experiences, interactive spaces, and captivating destinations.

An immersive lifestyle destination centered around active recovery, regardless of one's distance from home. SIRO is a fluid yet dynamic space that encourages social interaction and connection, designed to keep guests relaxed & rejuvenated until they're prepared to engage with the innovative workout facilities. It is a dynamic and interactive space that energizes guests from the guestrooms to the studios, from sunrise to sunset.

The heart of the hotel spans over two floors. Level 30 encompasses the “Starting Block” (Lobby), the collective (an amphitheater for meetings) The “Fitness Lab” a state of the art Gym, Experience Box & Cycle Studio. Level 31 focuses on recovery with treatment rooms, yoga studio, pilates studio, zen room, relaxation area tiled with Himalayan Salt walls and changing facilities – each area surrounded by jaw dropping views of Dubai and the link. A sculptural spiral staircase connects the two floors while also serving as the focal point of the starting block space, emphasizing SIRO’s ethos of balancing performance fitness & mindful regeneration.

The balance between dynamic energy and restorative calmness is what defines and differentiates the two public floors of SIRO. The arrival spaces and gym facilities are lively with energetic music, LEDlighting features, and dynamic artwork while the recovery floor is centered around restoration and recovery leading to complete serenity in the guestroom spaces which are fresh, calm, and serene, focusing on rest and rejuvenation.

Converting two existing floor plates previously designed to be One&Only guestroom units to public floors presented structural limitations as ceiling heights and MEP were installed and frozen. LW worked tirelessly with the LeadArchitect Nikken Sekkei and MEP consultant to address the challenges of introducing the feature spiral staircase between level 30 & 31. Rigorous measures were introduced to create this lightweight structure that is the focal point of the SIRO lobby. LW used creative materials to disguise the height limitations like reflective finishes, dynamic lighting, and digital screens, while still resulting in an engaging and exciting bold yet compelling space.

Encouraging sustainability and green practices, water stations fitted with the HydroTap from Zipwater have been placed in both the suites & public areas, minimizing single-use plastic consumption.
