Mobile World Congress 23 trade show positive impact stand + sustainability report
DearPlanet® have designed, built, deconstructed and managed an iconic and positive impact booth at Barcelona’s Mobile World Congress 2023.
Made for Simplr, a life software as a service tech company from Barcelona, the booth has been designed and created both for the client and the planet.
DearPlanet® operates under the Net Positive culture and positive impact has been the main focus along the client’s brand message and needs.
Circularity is a pre-requisite of any positive impact project so a very high, I mean, very very high percentage of the material used is traceable and cradle to trade certified (silver as a minimum) to deliver what has been called the most sustainable booth of this 2023 MWC edition.
Some significant data (our technology department made an extensive report) about the booth:
- The weight of the whole booth is 17.213 kgs.
- The amount of those 17.213 kgs that go to the trash is below 129 kgs.
- The cyclability index is 99,25%.
- The CARBON FOOTPRINT is 5.625kgCO2eq.
- The HYDRIC FOOTPRINT is 180.210 litres.
Designed to make Simplr’s brand shine with a unique and minimal silhouette, big-block feeling to boost a high tech sensation thanks to the combination of a raw material with two symmetric large video walls (8 x 3 meters) plus warm lighting, the user experience created for the booth is both techy and human, welcoming long conversations and time to be used by the client to spread their message.
This combination of raw natural color of the untreated panels with the warm lighting plus the big video walls, created a “come here, you’re welcome” effect that performed very good in a very noisy and super over-designed trade show like MWC.
Technically speaking, the booth has been designed by DearPlanet’s creative director Aitor Molina and his team with sustainability as a priority. The booth has been built using recycled (and already planned recyclable after our use) wood for the structure, covered with recycled cellulose panels made very close to Barcelona by a local supplier and are going to be re-used by them as base material to manufacture more panels. Furniture is rented as well the screens from local suppliers from Barcelona. On top of this, all the energy consumption is taken from the solar panels provided by Fire Barcelona, a very committed partner for the environment and sustainable purposes. And the Impact Report is being finished by DearPlanet’s technology and data crew and will be presented soon.
We have to take in consideration that it’s the very first booth that is made in this new scenario of Positive Impact and Net Positive culture and the outcome it’s been amazing.
Hope you like it too.
