Silks Club, Kaohsiung
in between city and ocean

What kind of atmosphere can present local feeling?
What kind of spirit can express intention for going international?
What kind of posture is suitable for a hotel in between city and ocean?

“Innovation, Technology, and Art” is the answer we conclude for those questions given for design mentioned above, and also the important spirit which needs to be presented in space, especially by technology. It is imple to say the “feeling is local but image is contemporary”.

Weather, humanities, and the environment is a common experience, and the ocean is a deep memory for locals.

Similar to other harbor cities in the world, the ocean is a permanent feature and connection with the world to Kaohsiung. It can be seen, heard, touched, and also smelled, especially as it never stops moving with its unfixed form! So how do we use a contemporary way to express the “nature status” of the ocean which can create a feeling of technology and avant-garde, but still maintain its local sense. Put simply, “ local factor + contemporary express!“
