307 is the first office and experimental workspace for Sidewalk Toronto, a tech and urban planning partnership made up of Alphabet’s Sidewalk Labs and Waterfront Toronto.
Daily tous les jours imagined an exhibition for 307 that would be a constantly evolving mix of content and prototypes, creating an environment where people can experience the challenges of building a city; to learn, to contribute and to feedback. The result is a set of colorful, rolling, modular, stackable, playful tools that allow for different levels of participation.
A collection of flexible furniture was designed as a framework to display Sidewalk Labs’ growing vision, and as friendly places for the public to engage. Interactive games, ranging from custom playing cards to an experimental Generative Map allow users to learn about the processes of urban planning and imagine various scenarios for the future city.
In response to 307’s location amidst a developing industrial area, Daily tous les jours artistic direction made this once grey building pop! with a bold and warm graphic touch inside and out. Watery blues, colorful murals and vibrant patterns all contribute to an unique atmosphere where people feel comfortable and welcome.
