The restaurant sits on the ground floor of a commercial complex in Futian CBD, Shenzhen. It's like a naturally growing "organism" hidden in a quiet corner. Natural elements such as stones, trees, earth and plants define its entrance, which subtly balances with the surrounding modern skyscrapers and the bustling downtown area. Natural materials are extended to the interior space and applied to rectangular structures of varying sizes and functions, to create a natural ambience and aesthetic. The spatial pattern, major walls, partitions, island and furniture feature simple square geometric shapes, which form diversified combinations. A traditional Chinese building material, rammed earth, is used to clad the display surface of the front area. Besides, various inexpensive natural materials such as terrazzo, timber and paper are utilized in the dining area, thus bringing fabulous aesthetic experience and humanistic care for diners. The plain, authentic materials produce an Oriental-style environment where the present and past are interwoven. Delicate lighting, regular layout and soft color palette are skillfully combined, not only enriching the layering of the understated space but also offering diversified sensory experiences.
