ShishaLove is the biggest shisha company in Cyprus with around 300 employees. It specializes in importing, selling to retail customers and supplying the lounges and coffee shops of Cyprus and of other countries abroad. The company has small shops across Cyprus and Greece, both for retail and the wholesale market as well as an e-shop store for online purchases.
Their expertise in the selection and preparation of Hookah and Tobacco brands aims to bring their customers the excellence of experiencing the mystical aromas and tastes from all the corners of the world. Due to the fact that the company has been growing big, having many proposals for opening stores in Poland and Russia, the general manager decided for a renovation.
The aim of this was to create a clear and bold image that would then strengthen the general brand of the store. For Katerina Kavazi’s office, this was a challenging brief in that a conventional enclosed retail space could be transformed into a place that reflects quality, identity and purpose. The new renovated store is located in the well-known Kolonakiou Street, Limassol’s prime avenue. It’s style revolves around a luxurious industrial vibe since the hookah instruments are unique designs priced from €200.00 - €5,000.00.
In terms of the design of the space, the architect strategically chooses to place the furniture parallel to the internal space. In this way, long corridors are created and consequently a clear pathway leads the user towards the end of the store. The furniture displays are black metallic structures with bronze cabinet boxes for storage. For giving the space a more unique character, the left wall was painted with graffiti by the famous graffiti artist Paparazzi. The graffiti portrays a Russian influencer smoking hookah at the seaside of Limassol with tall landmark buildings behind her.
The smoke from Hookah forms the word passion. At the right side, a range of ceramic hookah bowls hang on the wall forming a bird flock pattern that give some movement and a pop of color to the space. The small sitting area was designed to express a cozier atmosphere that could also be used by the users to take photos and advertise the brand through various media platforms. It comprises of a velvet blue couch, two small coffee tables and a green wall with the “Shishalove logo lighted with coloured led stripes.
Finally what adds to the industrial vibe of the store are the metallic furnishings around the store, the cashier area where two metallic pendant spotlights hang from the ceiling, as well as the metallic porous wall along the corridor that leads to the other half of the store. Moreover the vaulted ceiling at the first half of the store gives a more dramatic tone to this industrial look.
