Shenyang Jiuwu Culture City was located right next to the major retail street lots and served as a cultural and daily consumption concentration. It is not only the center for cultural cultivation of the region, but also a commercial hub for daily supply, eatery, entertainment, and multi-functional cultural landmarks. In order to emphasize the cultural memory of the city, one of the key design approach is to incorporate the facade with the iconic elements of the culture - "Book". The over-sized graphic symbolised the gesture of fliping pages. As in the Chinese proverbs, "There is a leaf in every page, a tree in every book".

In terms of spatial design, continuous chains of bookshelves are formed in alignments, dividing unvites the visitors to walk through a forest of books and enjoy a joyful journey of nature and culture. Throughout the for-story bookstore building, the (V-shaped) ceiling and floor patterns are designed to symbolize "open books" while the wooden finishes and fair-faced concrete background are served to create a distinctive cultural space, all are perfectly integrated with the concept of architectural design and public commercial space design.
