Scampi embraces its Italian heritage through a design that embodies a seaside Mediterranean feel, with architectural details inspired by post-modern Italian design. Conceptualized by Parts and Labor Design, the 3,000-square-foot restaurant offers a welcoming interior that highlights its coastal Italian menu.
The restaurant combines soft hand-applied plaster detailing, textured warm woods, and artistic imperfections throughout. The layout divides the room into two distinct spaces, the bar and dining room, naturally delineated by the building’s architecture. Upon entry, guests are drawn to a bar area with a large mirrored back bar and plant wall. Taking advantage of the 13" ceilings, the walls are lined with wood arches that provide a backdrop to the open bottle display and hand sculpted ceramic light fixtures.
Beyond the bar is the dining room, where the ceiling drops to compress the space into an intimate setting. Softly textured walls convey a traditional Italian coastal vibe which speaks to the era of postmodern design. A creamy color palette is combined with deep blues and warm peach tones. An asymmetric solid wood door leads to the private dining room, which features a custom sculptural installation and arched ceilings.
Drawing from a sculptural craft and utilizing materials such as cast high gloss glazed ceramics, peach hand blown glass, solid wood, and brass, the custom fixtures are integral to the restaurant’s aesthetic.
