Santoria Lamberti, located in the famous Ritz Carlton hotel in Moscow, is an Italian restaurant designed to create a captivating atmosphere that is impressive without excessive decoration. The restaurant design concept was inspired by a classic tailor shop. With a needle woman's workshop in mind, the waiters take orders like a tailor would take measurements and the orders are handed over like sketches to the chefs who resemble that of a seamstress. The food is then prepared like that of tailored garment and handed over as a beautifully crafted finished product to the customer. Brass pipe lamp fixtures and layers of garments and textiles hanging as art on the walls are reminiscent of a tailor shop in this Italian restaurant. The space is decorated as a fitting room lined with velvet chairs and sofas that are soft, and comfortable. They invite customers to relax and enjoy a well-fed bliss. Small tables are separated by what looks like a changing room as long thick curtains hang down on either side of the tables to ensure privacy. At the end of the long family style dinner table sits a partition style mirror that you would find in every traditional tailor shop around town. Lighting is organized in such a way that the atmosphere changes dramatically throughout the day. In the morning and in the afternoon, it is soft warm lighting. In the evening, it goes into a behind-the-scenes, and even dramatic atmosphere, with an emphasis on low light sources.
