Branding imagery is always a topic of design discussion for architects and designers. One of the key issues is the comprehension and abstraction of a successful story line and DNA that defines the brand in an architectural and spatial way. Through the inspiring client, Rupert Sanderson, the imagination began with the full analysis of its key retail product, the 24K gold leaf heels. The inspiration is derived from the natural curvature of the heels, and its relationship with the shoe itself. The curvature emphasizes a continuous contour of geometry that shapes the design language, as well as informing the overall planning strategy for a specific retail approach. The additional retail parameters thus began to embed itself into the direct interaction with shoppers on a personal and intimate level. The entire layout informs a fluid and organic movement by accentuating non-linear corners to enhance an unlimited field of vision. In addition, the products are orchestrated in a fashion that relates directly to the human scale where it presents itself as precious, elegant, and exquisite. The architectural elements act as a catalyst to further enhance the overall design details and language in circulation, product presentation, and shopper interaction.
