Restaurant „Reason“ The vocational and private environment of the client provides the inspiration for the restaurant. The client is supplier of a well-known tequila brand and is also privately connected to Mexico. When entering the restaurant, it seems to be a little more private and cosier, but the room opens up towards the outside space and the kitchen while walking down the street. We created different atmospheres within the room by using a pedestal and wooden arches. The southwest orientated patio is separated by an untreated sheet pile wall from the streetscape. Bar counters are framing a big red skull, the iconic eyecatcher of the „Reason“-restaurant. The Bar Bar counters are framing a big red skull, the iconic eyecatcher of the „Reason“-restaurant. The orbital cavities of the skull are filled with bottle racks that cause a dramatically illuminated scenery. The teeth are interpreted by lighted wine glasses situated on the back counter. The bar counters vary in hight and create a flexible counter landscape with various quality of stay. Idea The client is supplier of a well-known tequila brand and is also privately connected to Mexico. The design of the restaurant combines Mexican, contemporary and custom-made materials and products, like woods, fabrics, plants, colours and "the skull". Form&Creativity The cultural environment of the restaurant is Mexico. Mexican types of wood were used, fabrics and lights are reminiscent of Mexico. The colors create happiness and informality. The orbital cavities of the skull are filled with bottle racks that cause a dramatic scenery. Functionality&Sustainability The restaurant is a multi-use supplier. It stands and sees itself as a street in Mexico. The arches, interpreted as a house facade, separate the fine dining area from the street, where people sit closer and more relaxed. Small differences in height underline the topography. Innovation The skull as an iconic representation symbolizes the greatest Mexican festival, the day of the dead. At the same time, it is the logo of the owner's tequila brand. CNC-milled and dramatically illuminated, the colorful bottles depict the eyes and the glasses depict the teeth. Impact A new meeting point is being created in a multifunctional building complex. The meeting point complements life on the site and brings about get-togethers.
