Located on the third floor of W Osaka, restaurant Oh.lala… offers an all-day international dining experience. Picking up on Japan’s love for French cuisine and lifestyle, concrete wanted to infuse Osaka with tasty sophistication, and from there the concept of Oh.lala... was born! The interior design draws its inspiration from traditional French cuisine’s copper pots and pans, as well as the typical Breton shirt. Its blue and white stripes have been changed shape into the hotel’s characteristics dots and zigzags… Continuing from the hallway, the oak flooring turns shape from straight to chevron, while the zigzag curtains are curving around booths and tables, defining intimate seating zones. The central seating element is entirely clad in copper-toned metal, and is a merged version and modern take on the traditional, shared brasserie sofa & table set-up. Seating is also found at the windows and back wall. Along this same wall are tilted mirrors, for an extra opportunity to people-watch. Stainless steel shelves are styled with unique porcelain objects decorated in blue dots – combining traditional French shapes and colors with the boldness of Osaka. Adding sparkle from above, are clouds of small ball pendant lights and copper-toned chandeliers within the waves of the curtain. Front-row seats at the high communal oak 'chefs' tables provide the opportunity for guests to experience the cooking process from up-close. The blue and white chevron tiles flooring of this area is continued into the open show-kitchen, enhancing the effect that you are actually a guest inside the kitchen. The open kitchen is clad in stainless steel. Above it is a wall of rectangular white tiles - much like those used in the streets of Osaka - and an airy copper frame in front, which holds copper-colored pots and pans, to enhance the traditional look & feel of French cuisine. The kitchen experience is continued into the cold kitchen, where - quite boldly - the blue and white chevron tiling is seamlessly applied on floor and walls. Here guests can pick up fresh foods and juices, from morning to evening. The aperitive bar is designed in a similar style as the show kitchen on opposite side. But instead of pots and pans, the open shelves are stacked with bottle after bottle of exclusive W Osaka Champagne – adding another luxurious French touch to this dining experience!
