Renaissance Xi’an Hotel consists of 396 guest rooms and suites with modern, curated furnishings and fixtures mixed with vibrant jewel tones and bold shapes. The design team drew inspiration from the geometric configurations of the classic Chinese game—Tangram, which consists of seven varied geometric shapes forming various patterns. This motif is carried throughout from the architecture, furniture pieces, and art in the public spaces to guest accommodations and F&B outlets. From the lobby to the guest rooms, an element of surprise awaits. The design team incorporated small details in every space for guests to discover the exotic atmosphere and entice them to further explore the city.
The design team sought to create a memorable experience for travelers, starting with the multifunctional lobby. The communal areas are defined by various geometric shapes influenced by Tangram set pieces or other traditional games; a suspended staircase is encased by over-sized abacus beads; and lounge seating comes together in various Tangram shapes for a playful note. A separate Studio contains a semi-private room with a solid wood game table adorned with board games for all ages.
