Restaurant „Reason“ The vocational and private environment of the client provides the inspiration for the restaurant. The client is supplier of a well-known tequila brand and is also privately connected to Mexico. When entering the restaurant, it seems to be a little more private and cosier, but the room opens up towards the outside space and the kitchen while walking down the street. We created different atmospheres within the room by using a pedestal and wooden arches. The southwest orientated patio is separated by an untreated sheet pile wall from the streetscape. The Street The process of structuring the restaurant also generated two various themes. The Street is determined by the iconic red skull, as back of the bar, to have a different finishing of the furniture. The skull represents the brand, Mexico and its culture about the „Dias de los Muertos”, which is a very important holiday. We left the ceiling as exposed concrete and all the building services should be seen intentionally. Together with plants, pots and pendants that are hanging within a black steel structure, mounted partially on the ceiling, a picture of a street scene occurs with cables and plants randomly presented, supported by the untreated, painted floor finish. The Fine Dining From the Street four steps upward the Fine Dining area can be entered. Not only the height difference, but also a wooden filter of round arches is separating the Fine Dining space. The entrance portal and the steps are presented in detail by light. By reducing the ceiling height and fixing fabric panels on the walls, atmosphere of comfort and warmth is finding its way. The Bar Bar counters are framing a big red skull, the iconic eyecatcher of the „Reason“-restaurant. The orbital cavities of the skull are filled with bottle racks that cause a dramatically illuminated scenery. The teeth are interpreted by lighted wine glasses situated on the back counter. The bar counters vary in hight and create a flexible counter landscape with various quality of stay. The Wine Sheltered behind a wooden filter a long table invites for a comfortable stay between wine and atmosphere. From this point of the room the guests can enjoy the happenings at the bar from a special perspective without being right in the middle of it. The Terrace Separated through a sheet pile wall the Terrace also has several different scenes that create tension and excitement. The Street is continued on the outside patio with various pots, plants, seating areas and situations to create vibrancy. A big canopy covers the outside space and includes another black steel structure containing hanging pots, plants and pendants.
