Built by the Prince Aga Khan, Hotel Cervo is located on the Costa Smeralda. Quattropasi al Pescatore is designed in a distinctive organic architectural style; the intimate connection to nature is the essence of the site and played a central role in Blacksheep’s redesign.
Hotel Cervo briefed Blacksheep to create a holistic new vision for the restaurant interiors and brand. For Quattropasi al Pescatore, Blacksheep chose to retain the fabric and unique character of the architecture.
Blacksheep’s overall design narrative sought to introduce a sense of contemporary luxuriousness whilst also providing a timeless aesthetic, executed through a sensuous new colour palette, material exploration and connection to nature.
The interior spaces are redefined with monolithic, sinuous travertine blocks, creating a new bar, fish counter and host desk. Sculptural glass pendants are juxtaposed with rough unfinished stonewalls and exposed roof beams, celebrating natural elements and the original architecture. Nature continues to be a theme through the dressing of the space with terracotta tiles, rattan pendants and bespoke timber banquettes.
The terrace offers sweeping views of the Tyrrenhian Sea.To frame this Blacksheep introduced understated modern timber furniture, woven pendant lighting and sheer drapes.
The front and rear gardens were replanted with local Sardinian herbs and the entrance signage was redesigned based upon the original hand-drawn typeface using local timber.
