The Qianhai Brewery Co. is a casual bar designed with a significant nod to industrial glamour. The bar features an on-site craft brewery, extensive climate-controlled wine cellar, lounge and restaurant. The partially covered terrace accommodates a range of moveable lounge and dining seating. The substantial flawlessly designed external space caters for community gatherings and busy weekend markets. 

It is a unique Asian-appropriate venue for craft beer enthusiasts and food & wine aficionados – made for both locals and foreigners; for individuals, small groups and team gatherings. With a specific client request of making a solid visual connection to the microbrewing beer as an overall appeal, LW Design placed numerous beer vats in the heart of the design. 

The craft beer is prepared in the on-site brewery that is located directly beneath the bar. Guests can view the immense vats from the inside of the bar or from the outside terrace. \ The bar front contains a smaller beer vat that seamlessly connects the guest to the brewing process and experience. 

The ambience created is welcoming, hip, vibrant, and above all, friendly. It's packed with visual interest and well-defined booth, bar, window and group seating options. Connection to the outdoor terraces is accessible through numerous sliding doors and large windows, creating a biophilic feeling. To enhance this feeling further, clever indoor-outdoor seating bridges the large window spaces. 

The bar's flexible nature called for moveable furniture, which would allow for bespoke seating groups, evenings with live bands, zoning, and the terrace. The designer introduced hand-glazed modular tiles to a feature wall giving a sense of Asian-ness by depicting celadon colour and shapes that echoes the form of bamboo. Most of the feature tile are either sourced locally or developed in collaboration with a local tile manufacturer. 

In addition to the retail industrial furniture selection, the client and designer has opted to source from local thrift stores, this promotes connection with the local neighborhood, sustainability, and a distinct pride to gift to the community who has been involved throughout the process. Ultimately, the outlet is designed to enhance the growing appreciation of contemporary craft beer experiences in Asia. "Live new Asia'.
