Reception area - The Design Group
One of the coffee points - with its style, it introduces a casual, café-like atmosphere. Of course, it doesn't lack elements characteristic of the rest of the office - we have a brick wall, black veneer, and cabinet fronts with ribbed glass. There are also upholstered chairs and armchairs in warm colors, a soft sofa, and coffee tables in natural wood tones. The homely atmosphere is also evoked by the wooden floor with a fir-tree pattern. - The Design Group
One of the offices - besides the imposed stylistic code, represented by one brick wall, each of the managers could design the room as they wanted, of course, with our assistance. - The Design Group

The office project combines the key values of PwC, the business character of the Katowice region, and Silesian identity. Industrialism and modernity merge in this space with cozy, homey accents. Drawing on references to the characteristic urban planning of Katowice districts, built over a hundred years ago as settlements for mine workers, we decided to make brick one of the key elements of the interior design.

The office design seamlessly integrates with coal black as well. Hence, we have black veneer mimicking formwork, black ceilings, and wall sections, industrial lamps, or black-painted installations. One of the reception walls is adorned with a concrete relief depicting the plan of the Katowice Culture Zone, where the office is located. In turn, in the training room on the 9th floor, a mural depicting characteristic buildings of the Katowice Culture Zone was executed on raw concrete, and all mobile walls feature a pattern inspired by the facade of the NOSPR (National Symphony Orchestra of Polish Radio) building.

The interiors are also adorned with numerous graphics referring to the most famous places in Silesia. Additionally, employees were engaged in creating names in their known language, namely the Silesian dialect, for over a hundred acoustic booths.

Simultaneously, in the office project, we focused on advanced technology (e.g., for organizing calls or presentations) and systems (e.g., for booking rooms or desks) supporting a hybrid work model and facilitating teamwork. One of the main goals of the project (which posed a significant challenge) was to create a workspace conducive to collaboration for 1600 employees while ensuring flexibility and comfort. The client also expressed the need to create a workspace enabling team rotation, not just for individuals. Our team achieved this by implementing an open layout with various team work zones with appropriate acoustics (thanks to carpets, acoustic panels on furniture, walls, ceilings, etc.), well-equipped conference spaces, and rooms catering to diverse needs, such as a recording studio, a brainstorming room, or a wellness area. Integration is supported by a kitchen occupying nearly half of the 9th floor with a large table. It somewhat compels employees to detach from their desks and enter a different dimension and space where they can meet and talk away from office routines. From the kitchen, you can step out onto a spacious terrace with a panoramic view of Katowice.

We maintained a pleasant, homely atmosphere by using natural materials, upholstered furniture in warm tones, and a large amount of greenery. Together with the client, we focused on a sustainable approach to the project. Therefore, some of the furniture used in the new arrangement comes from the previous PwC Service Delivery Center headquarters. In the project, we also ensured areas for precise waste segregation, energy-efficient lighting solutions, and the use of reclaimed bricks and other natural and certified materials.
