Designed by Eberhardt Objects, Pizza Rimini is a modern reinterpretation of a pizzeria. The restaurant's atmosphere is meant to evoke a long-forgotten time, using style elements to recall the vacation feeling of the 70s - 90s in Italy.
The restaurant is located at the port of Offenbach in Germany and attracts attention from the outside with horizontally arranged window shading ornaments. These unfold a Mediterranean aura inside the space. The pizzeria has a 120 m² interior and a 17 m² terrace, which takes the guest back to that time with the furniture's simple shapes and a colour concept resulting from Rimini postcards of the 80s.
High ceilings and minimalist furnishing with expressive colours, valuable materials and a timeless design form the framework for a generous space-creating gesture in the form of a counter. This forms a sacred character through the ceiling projection, doubles the room's height, and functions as the centrepiece. It creates a closed circle by uniting all areas, from the work surface to the seating and enjoyment counter.
The counter forms an exciting contrast to the linearly arranged space. The pizza oven, the beer dispenser and the rounding of the counter are on one axis and centre the focus on the product and the preparation. A communal situation is created where guests and chefs can interact. The guest is visually integrated into the baking process by creating visual references to the craft.
The warmth from the walnut wood veneer breaks up the raw character created by the exposed concrete walls. Exciting colour accents and the seamless homogeneous flooring in turquoise blue, which reflects the sea on the coast of Rimini, convey a feeling of life and a promise of lightness and carefreeness. This is underlined by a valuable lighting concept, which creates various moods and emphasizes the jumping room heights and rounds off the room.
