The design concept tailor made for Plein is taken to the nth degree in the 420 sqm four floors of London flagship store. Each floor exalts a particular brand’s department. Entering at the ground floor, an iconic maxi skull fully covered with Swarovski crystals receives the “followers” in the accessory area with “box in the box” furniture, where white marble for women and black marble for men live together, emphasised by the polished stainless steel, black iron frames and extra clear mirrors. The new hexagonal staircase is a sensual vertical space connector enhancing brand logo shape from basement level where men’s collection is displayed: the men area atmosphere created by the black marble continues in the staircase reflecting brand’s power. Staircase configuration in plan and existing building constraints represented a significant structural challenge solved with cantilever landings and cantilever half landings completing the hexagonal shape. At the first floor, a burst of light enhances the dresses and accessories of the women and kids’ areas. The new skylight creates a focal point for all the space and the natural light, completed by Murano glass chandeliers, shines reflected on the white marble and the golden brass, stopping to the fourth floor, where the store technological hearth is placed. The main façade has been fully valorised through the installation of a new elegant black marble cladding at ground floor level and windows design with front light emission logos.
