The project creates a new "brand community" and a high-tech exhibition hall, as a new window for displaying brand image and innovative R&D.
Innovation:
Inspired by the term "R&D", the designers extracted the concept of "FORMULA Y" as the logic of the experience journey in the space. How to stimulate visitors' emotions and spark their curiosity became the starting point of the design to deconstruct the spatial circulation and build the content context. The design takes "purity" as a keynote, subdividing the space to achieve a broad visual effect in a not-so-tall space, resulting in an overall ethereal ambiance.
Creativity:
Guided by the sky-line shape, visitors come to the corporate profile exhibition zone, which includes curved sloped display walls, integrated but still dignified. The “Four Cores” area uses curved walls to form a permeable space, to reduce visual blockage.
After a smooth transition, visitors move to the YSG LAB area, which displays the brand's R&D system and achievements in a laboratory atmosphere. Separated from the dynamic exhibition area, the LAB area has a tranquil atmosphere, which evokes a shift in visitors' emotion from active to calm. The future R&D area uses a circular luminescent display table to present the R&D achievements which can also serve as a live-streaming space.
Functionality:
Using brand culture as a catalyst, the design emphasizes the unique color elements of the brand throughout the space. Upon actual operation, the brand community area becomes the most popular area of the entire building.
In the "brand community", with a central circular sofa as the core, multiple groups of flexible furniture are set, which forms an open negotiation area with a circular sofa and high bar counter, a separate quiet area with semi-enclosed furniture, and other various communication areas with different furniture combinations. An open café is connected by the window, creating a free, cozy atmosphere to catalyze Big Ideas.
The central island area is connected to the open atrium, and the natural light makes the entire space breathable. To create a comfortable communication space where people are willing to stay, the design extends the key visual element - "circle" to create a water bar and multi-function activity area, with the round lines softening the sharp triangular structure of the building.
Sustainability:
Sustainability is a core concept that both the client and the designers adhered to in this project. The ceiling, walls, columns and other facades in the space are clad in environment-friendly soundproof cotton, bamboo charcoal fiber board and green textured paint, etc. The large area of metallic effect is not produced by traditional metal, but by processing fiber boards and adding metal film as veneers. Functionally, the project adopts flexible composite space design rather than traditional functional division, greatly increasing the utilization rate of space.
