Situated just above Edge, the highest outdoor observation deck in the Western Hemisphere, Peak offers a breathtaking new dining experience overlooking panoramic city views. The direct entrance to Peak is via a cocktail lounge on the 5th floor. Guests are greeted by a specialty brass finish storefront with full height blade fins, which frames the building’s truss structure beyond. At the entrance to the lounge, a stone slab floor with a sinuous, curving metal inlay directs the flow of traffic. Guests are received at a sculptural stone host stand, and the ceiling and walls are wrapped in light smoked oak and soft, mirrored polished champagne metal. The bar and lounge seating are enclosed with decorative metal mesh screens, and a U-shaped bar carved out of a solid stone block is offset by a warm metal art piece by UK artist Based Upon. The restaurant features four main areas: a lounge setting adjacent to the bar, where visitors can gaze out on the city skyline, the elegant bar, a two-tiered main dining room, and a secluded PDR. Two small, mobile stages can accommodate live music. As guests enter the restaurant, they pass a whiskey wall on the left, a jewel box cabinet filled with liquor bottles, while a U-shaped bar faces the view and has a silver sky marble top and an artisanal metal die. The main dining area features rich, dark oak flooring, and the PDR has an inset deep blue area rug, recalling the timeless elegance of old New York. Much of the restaurant is ensconced in a soft mirror-polished champagne metal ceiling, with a feature light installation by Lasvit to reflect the skyline and unify the space. The dining area is situated between the open kitchen/raw bar and the view. Mohair upholstered banquettes surround the perimeter, and chairs are upholstered in plush fabric, juxtaposed against sleek tabletops that alternate between spalted sycamore and dark marble. The kitchen is obscured by a solid marble wall with an open pass and is framed by a smoked oak wall with metal beading and a sculptural mural by artist Malcolm Hill. Metal screens shield patrons from the kitchen traffic, while retractable drapery helps soften the space and limits glare. The PDR incorporates a full wall wine display, with an integrated decanting station. Adjacent walls are clad in embossed suede leather and a specialty brass finish. A warm metal art piece by Petr Weigl slides open to reveal a concealed digital monitor. A stretched fabric ceiling forms the backdrop for another Lasvit chandelier that compliments the one in the main dining space. The event space serves multiple functions, including providing visitors to the Observation Deck with another vantage point when not in use for an event. A vaulted, fabric ceiling unites the long, linear room, and is divided into bays, each anchored by a circular feature chandelier. The room can be partitioned into separate spaces with the use of upholstered mobile screens. Dark tessellated marble floors throughout incorporate metal inlay that steers visitors to the view. The southern wall and columns along the façade are clad in smoked oak with metal beading. A dedicated bar with a saw-tooth-patterned marble bar die serves the event space.
