"PASTEL POP" is my project for the APARTMENT section of PITTI BIMBO fashion show where I had translated the general theme “P.O.P. Pitti Optical Power” of the event, using an elegant key, suitable for the exclusive fashion brands showcased in the pavilion.
That’s why I have desaturated the strong “red/yellow/blue” colors of the main event into an ocean green color combined with a salmon rose, grey moquette mixed with tones of light blue, wall decorations enriched by abstract graphic patterns, keeping the summer mood but adding a stylish touch.
Taking inspiration from De Chirico's paintings, my project creates a path of abstract architectures made of portals, staircase without an end, wall portholes, deep shadows drawn on the ground, which became “PASTEL POP” thanks to combinations of colors and textures that I have selected.
Everything was specifically designed by my office for the event, I have proposed a combination of rich and cheap materials both to create an interesting and unusual perception of the space but also to be within the budget.
The project is located in an ex Lyceum where the corridors of the old school are dedicated to the bar & lounge, while the ex- school rooms are used by the 17 fashion brands (plus 7 brands exhibiting on the corridor…a fact that I have to take into account in my project).
I have designed the whole settings: but I am submitting is the design of the PASTEL POP bar&lounge which is central to the exhibition area.
