Orato is a space reclaiming its often overlooked, undervalued namesake - the office lobby. This lobby is rebelling from being seen as a transitional space and instead demands all that enter to pay attention, settle in and enjoy. With meticulous attention to detail and an iconic Dutch collaboration this is a bold departure from convention. The space is not just an afterthought—it's a captivating gateway that redefines the very essence of corporate spaces.

Innovation: Situated in Amstel Business Park, this lobby design sets Orato apart from its neighbors. Providing Orato with a distinguishable, unique visual identity - creating a brand rather than just a building. This new take on the lobby provides a warm and hospitable setting blurring the lines between office, cafe and art gallery adding value to those who reside in the Orato Offices and leaving a lasting impression with visitors.

Functionality: Considering the function of the lobby it was important to ensure the space could endure high traffic and with that, provide pleasant acoustics as well as offer a range of multipurpose seating and spaces to host the many residents and visitors. This has been achieved through the inclusion of soft furnishings and materials to reduce excess noise and a variety of adaptable furniture throughout the lobby. The space flexibly lends itself to a range of configurations creating a hospitable atmosphere enticing all who enter to utilize the space to its fullest potential.

Creativity: Distinguishing the Orato Offices lobby design as a standout project is the seamless collaboration between The Invisible Party and Maarten Baas. A bespoke, digital chandelier installation boldly welcomes visitors into the space while the unique reception desk in Baas’ distinctive Carapace style offers information and refreshments. Iconic colored clay furniture is peppered throughout the lobby adding color and a sense of play. The overall concept transcends the idea of a blank canvas, evolving into a welcoming gallery-like lobby. Here, design and art converge, offering visitors a unique experience where minimalism meets artistic flair. The interplay of textures, colors, and forms within the lobby enhances its visual appeal. This space is not just an entrance to an office; it's a celebration of art, a fusion of design and creativity.

Sustainability: Orato is BREEAM certified, which ensures a build that is durable, energy efficient, healthy for its residents and importantly future-proof - surpassing current sustainability standards to ensure it will meet targets for years to come. Additionally, the implementation of durable, high quality finishes and multipurpose seating allows for flexible use of the space and longevity, reducing the need for frequent replacements or renovations.
