Functionality: Considering the function of the lobby it was important to ensure the space could endure high traffic and with that, provide pleasant acoustics as well as offer a range of multipurpose seating and spaces to host the many residents and visitors. This has been achieved through the inclusion of soft furnishings and materials to reduce excess noise and a variety of adaptable furniture throughout the lobby. The space flexibly lends itself to a range of configurations creating a hospitable atmosphere enticing all who enter to utilize the space to its fullest potential.

Creativity: Distinguishing the Orato Offices lobby design as a standout project is the seamless collaboration between The Invisible Party and Maarten Baas. A bespoke, digital chandelier installation boldly welcomes visitors into the space while the unique reception desk in Baas’ distinctive Carapace style offers information and refreshments. Iconic colored clay furniture is peppered throughout the lobby adding color and a sense of play. The overall concept transcends the idea of a blank canvas, evolving into a welcoming gallery-like lobby. Here, design and art converge, offering visitors a unique experience where minimalism meets artistic flair. The interplay of textures, colors, and forms within the lobby enhances its visual appeal.
