This refurbishment project is located in an emblematic office building designed by Antonio Lamela, in Madrid, and built during the 60´s. Timelessness with Innovation are the main principles for OAOB ´s team. So, updating such an interesting building was an exciting challenge. Creating a neutral and timeless space , but exclusive and innovative at the same time was the main goal from the beginning. In this refurbishment OAOB worked really hard to satisfy the spatial effectiveness, the functionality, and cost efficiency the client was demanding, without leaving behind the design approach, keeping the essence of the original materials, improving and updating the old building. Light, reflections and transparency are some of the design elements that characterized these spaces. In OAOB working with envirosafe materials and techniques is always a must, that's one of the reasons a raw design for this project was the key. This rawness has been achieved through emphasizing the original structure and preserving the existing natural lights, involving recycled materials, and in general keeping it simple. For this project the architects proposed and designed, a new HVAC system for the building , in order to improve the quality of the new workplaces, to reduce the energy consumption of the building and in general to sanitize and extend the life of this representative construction.
