The client’s original intention was to create an open creative studio in this 350 sq.ft. space. But he often blurs the line between work and relaxation – one moment, he is having friendly conversations with his colleagues, the next, he has an idea that he must put down. Hence, the designer created an “office home” for her client.
Everyone understands the concept of “home office”. As an “office home”, the designer wanted to create the comfort and feel of a home, within an office setting. You may be confused as you enter the space – bookshelves are hidden behind wall to ceiling cabinet doors; a comfortable armchair and sofa are ready to welcome you; and the long bar is certainly more enticing than gathering around the water cooler.
But if you look more carefully, you will see the hidden workspaces. A table pulls out of the wooden shelf to become a work table. Climbing the floating stairs, you find yourself in a private workspace where one can really concentrate and focus.
