N·tender Bar is situated along the historic streets of Xi’an. The exterior design features expansive double-curved floor-to-ceiling glass, meticulously crafted by China’s top glass manufacturer over one month. These curved glass panels, modeled through software calculations, simulate the flowing curves of water, creating irregular and smooth surface radii.

The inspiration for the curved glass design stems from the brand story of N·tender, conveying the idea of “freedom and fluidity” in its cocktail products. This design expresses the brand’s innovative thinking and avant-garde approach to traditional cocktail products.

Inside N·tender Bar, seating and columns are fashioned from lotus-colored resin fiberglass material. Utilizing software modeling and manufacturing molds, the resin fiberglass manufacturer produces uniquely shaped fiberglass structures. The translucency of fiberglass, coupled with internal lighting, transforms the solid resin fiberglass into a blurred and fluid state, enhancing the experience of mild intoxication by movement, standing, and conversation within the space through concealed structural elements.

Adhering to N·tender Bar’s slogan, “Tend You Tenderly”, we employed limestone flooring, textured coatings, and thin-poured concrete to construct an event- based space enveloped by solid, stable-state materials. Large curtains create partitions between seats, fostering a slow-paced environment that envelops patrons in a sensorial experience. The irregular curved glass facade, metal pipes encircling columns, and thin steel plates covering lights contribute to diverse expressions of enclosure and movement.

Inverting the traditional Doric columns, we placed multiple Doric columns upside down on the ceiling. This challenges the conventional perception of space and time, presenting both a facade image and a planar landscape. People observe and engage within this space, aiming to understand abstract symbols by drawing lessons from history and let such history serve as inspiration for exploring the unknown.

Furthermore, in the indoor space, ready-made light fixtures were not used. Instead, we designed irregular wall lights using differently shaped steel plates. The purpose is to convey the personality of the space as undefined, reflecting the core elements of the N·tender brand feature, specifically the ‘creation and construction’as the keywords. By designing irregular light fixture shapes, we aim to express a sense of randomness, as if the light was randomly torn and intercepted, creating irregular channels and areas of randomness to allow light to permeate through the space.
