Peter Pan once said “Go on… grow up! But I’m warning you, once you’re grown up you can never come back.” Walking into this 1,891 sq.ft. duplex in Hong Kong, it seems you will start an adventure with Peter Pan…. Families with young children often struggle with the dilemma of how to create child-friendly space while keeping a stylish home. Our designer Regina has successfully struck the balance between a beautiful design and a fun space for children. When entering the house, you may not notice this is a home with 3 young children. The design of the first floor is in a contemporary chic: simple lines with natural materials like wood and marble, together with the atypical setting of the sofa in the middle of the living room, and the TV is set against the full height window, so as to enhances the broad view and natural light shining through the space. A clutter-free and calm space for family gathering is created. Walking up the wooden stairs to the upper floor, you are first greeted by the 14 ft. green wall. Light casts down from the faux skylight, as if you’re climbing up to a forest canopy. At the top, you find the children’s library where it is an open area for family activities. Decorated with bright colours and natural materials, the nursery is an enchanted tree house, high up in the clouds. Apart from the kids’ room, there is also ample space like the balcony for the children to play around, with such a happy home, who would want to grow up?
