From the modernist ‘machine for living’ to the post-modernist ‘machine for creating,’ NeueHouse is the new private workspace: a series of experiences, spaces, amenities and opportunities especially suited to creative entrepreneurs. Residential at its core; a distinctive, cosmopolitan and integrated mix of appropriate luxe that delights the senses and inspires, strengthens, aids and sustains productivity, collaboration and social interaction. NeueHouse aims to provide a space for members to feel comfortable and confident, at home. Through identifying a global/tribal relationship specific to the location, a curated selection of ethnic art, accessories and textiles authenticates a sense of voyage; as though one has collected these items on their own travels. NeueHouse Hollywood inhabits the historic 1930s CBS building as designed by William Lescaze and draws upon the expression of the personal domestic environment created by modernist architects such as Eames and Le Corbusier. Their homes reflected the juxtaposition of clean architectural lines and materials with textural Berber textiles and rugs as well as North African colors, objects and art. For this house, Morocco played a huge role in the conceptual foundation and creative brief not only for its presence in the modernist architect’s home but also for is climatic similarities to Los Angeles. Beyond the textiles, botanicals, accessories, art; everything in the space lives by this concept.
