NCDA studio is located in Hollywood Road, an area of Hong Kong with many art galleries and antique shops. This location was chosen as the surrounding environment is full of creativity, culture, and history, which provides a rich source of inspiration for the designers. The abundance of art galleries and antique shops provides access to unique and interesting pieces that can be incorporated into the design work, adding a touch of individuality and character to each project.

The studio has a relaxed and informal atmosphere, designed to feel like a home rather than an office. The entrance is marked by a wooden door with a square shape window and a protruding frame which double as a handle. The reception area is furnished with a travertine coffee table and the Eave modular sofa from Menu is plush velvet. To the left is a large communal table with six pairs of Cassina’s Pierre Jeanneret rattan chairs that is used for meetings during the day and for dinner parties at night. The table as well as the shelves on the wall are custom made in travertine.

The Desks for designers are designed like first class airline cabin as it gives each designer a sense of privacy and a space to think. Designers have a tendency to be quite messy at times, so these desks helps to hide their mess while being sculptural; they are both functional and aesthetically pleasing.

The interior of the Studio is filled with natural light thanks to floor to surrounding ceiling windows. The materials used in the space were carefully chosen to create a sensory experience that enhances the overall design. The stainless-steel mullions have been covered in round columns and hand painted in plaster. The ceiling is hand painted in the same plaster, but with a reflective finish which helps to make the space feel bigger and reflect more light. This thoughtful choice allows the studio to feel bright and spacious, creating an inviting atmosphere for visitors and team members alike. We deliberately used only one type of stone, travertine, to create a distilled environment while highlighting the forms and shapes of the furniture. This natural stone adds a touch of elegance and sophistication to the space. The walls are panelled in woven wallpaper, the tactile feel of the wallpaper adding texture and a sense of zen to the space.

The studio also features a collection of art pieces. Some of the pieces were created by the Studio as part of their experimentation with different materials and techniques. These unique and one-of-a-kind pieces add a personal touch to the space and showcase the team's creativity and passion for creating and exploring new ideas.

Designed to feel like a relaxing home, the bright and calming space of the office itself provides a conducive environment for creative thinking. The studio is a reflection of the team's values and approach to design, where collaboration, innovation, and passion are key.
