MUDU derives its name from ancient Chinese records, symbolizing a wooden trolley that embodies enduring strength. This ethos defines the brand's commitment to sustainable fashion and timeless innovation, seamlessly intertwining tradition with modernity.

Located in OCT Harbour, a vibrant cultural and commercial hub in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, MUDU’s spatial design by AB.S honors Lingnan's cultural heritage while fostering a dialogue between tradition and contemporary aesthetics.

The design draws inspiration from the annual rings of trees, a natural record of growth and time. This imagery shapes a spatial narrative that transitions through quarter-circle modules, arcs, and full circles, culminating in the fitting room. The design evokes a journey rooted in time and memory, with the “Fashion Ark” unfolding through ripple-like spatial sequences, offering visitors layered and immersive experiences of temporal and spatial transitions.

The original columnar façade, a hallmark of Lingnan architecture, is preserved and enhanced with metallic materials, creating a juxtaposition of tradition and modernity. Traditional Lingnan elements—figured windows, wooden eaves, and blue brick carvings—are reinterpreted through a restrained yet avant-garde design language.

This integration of classical elements with modern aesthetics establishes a harmonious dialogue between past and future. Geometric forms and overlapping reflections enhance spatial depth, presenting a balanced aesthetic that bridges cultural heritage and contemporary design innovation.

MUDU’s design celebrates the fusion of cultural heritage and contemporary fashion, forging a symbiotic relationship between memory and innovation. By blending cultural richness with forward-thinking aesthetics, the space embodies a spirit of freedom and timeless transcendence, offering a distinctive reflection of enduring strength and sustainable fashion.
