The rugged mountain trees, wind swept, carved by the elements and wrapped in soft snow clouds inspired our palette of rugged and raw materials.
Dramatic lime washed timber lining became the key visual unifying element across walls and ceilings.
The knotted timber Floor boards, Joinery textures, furs and hides mix with warm lamplight, open fires and soothing linen fabric layers adding to the layered experience and creating an air of informal luxury.
The enveloping warm greys and mauve colours used parallel the soft snow eucalyptus trees that surround the ski village, unique to the Australian snowfields.
As a result, the interior is a tactile cocoon for the senses and a welcoming contrast to the harsh external environment.
We introduced key textural elements to the interior, with our theme directly inspired by the surrounding landscape, rugged textures and alpine colours.
We had 4 months to design, strip, re-furnish, re-provision and style every aspect of the interior before the start of the Ski season.
Narrow stairs meant everything bulky had to come in through a top floor window, via a temporary external hoist.
Our Layout changes created new expansive Living areas, allowing meaningful furniture zoning around 2 central fireplaces, clad in local granite.
Our aim was to create the feel of a complete, natural, handcrafted environment, punctuated with small moments of craft, detail and focus.
