Housed in a former turn-of-the-century hotel in the heart of New York’s garment district, the design concept for Moxy is built on a hand-wrought, crafted sensibility executed with thoughtful detailing, honest materials and basic, exposed construction techniques. These qualities layered together with a unique lightness and playfulness respond to the desires and expectations of today’s young-minded global nomad. Inspired to create a dynamic, socially-driven environment, the arrival on the main level is open to a double-height atrium which offers a connection to the energy on the hotel’s second floor. Yabu Pushelberg-designed guest rooms follow the same approach to elevating the guest experience. Uniquely functional and adaptable rooms are the result of well thought-through planning and considered details. Compact rooms are fitted out with custom furniture, fixtures and clever built-in design details that maximize the utility and comfort of private spaces.
